A Zebulon, North Carolina couple faces child abuse charges after their 4-month-old baby was found to have 10 broken ribs. “This kind of abuse happens behind closed doors so it’s not often seen by the community,” said Alison Feigh, Director of Jacob Wetterling Resource Center, a program of Zero Abuse Project.
Feigh also highlighted warning signs neighbors can look for and stressed the importance of intervention. “If you’re seeing parents who are appearing to be short-tempered and frustrated to point you’re worried about child’s safety, we need to reach out for help on behalf of child’s family,” Feigh said.
